It all started with an idea.
You wanted to run your own business and not have to work for someone else, you’ve been doing that and it isn’t what you want.
So your business idea starts to grow and you take action to make that a reality.
It’s hard work, there is a lot to do when starting your business. But your passion is strong and helps you to get your business up and running.
You love it, working for yourself, talking to people about your brand, showing what you can do.
BUT…
No one prepared you for all the little tasks that needed to be done, and the bigger your business grows, the more those little tasks seem to be taking over your time and energy.
Invoicing clients, doing some research in to competitors or new products/services you want to offer, creating content for social media and scheduling them in, keeping on top of your emails and all the junk you seem to be receiving because when you first started you signed up to lots of different websites and newsletters, putting all your clients information into a CRM system, creating a newsletter to send out to keep your clients up to date on what is happening, creating and filling out spreadsheets, chasing payment for outstanding invoices…. the list goes on
You love the product/service you offer but you really dislike the ‘back office’ stuff that is essential to keep your business running.
The passion that you had for running your own business is slowly being zapped by all these tasks that you didn’t realise would become so time consuming.
Why can’t you just do the fun and enjoyable parts of your business and not bother with these other things?
You have 3 choices…
- Keep doing them all yourself and see your passion disappear
- Stop doing them, but realise pretty quickly your business can’t survive without these tasks
- Find a Virtual Assistant who can take these tasks off your plate so you can carry on loving your business in the knowledge those important tasks are being done but you don’t have to do them!
There are so many options, you can use a Virtual Assistant for lots of things, give them just one task, use them weekly, use them on an adhoc basis. Use different VA’s for different tasks, many specialise in different areas and work together too (yes mostly we are a friendly bunch who help each other out).
The point to all of this is, don’t lose the passion for your business due to those small tasks. If you don’t like running your own business, or don’t actually enjoy what you are doing that’s one thing, but to give up on it because of a few tasks you don’t like doing is easily avoidable.
Yes, it does cost you money to use a Virtual Assistant.
But, using a VA will actually help your business to grow, because you have more time to do the parts of your business you love, which will help you to gain new clients.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know, then have a serious think about using a VA, at least send out the feelers and speak to a few different VA’s before making a decision.
